An Anchor of Hope

The Call to Press On

Dear LHC family,

I hope you are all doing well during these unprecedented times.

With everything going on around us, we need to continue to keep our eyes upon the Lord and our Faith anchored on the hope we have in Him.For better or worse, in sickness and in health, we need to remember who we are in Christ, and the mission He has given to us: To go and make disciples.

The plan has not changed. We are the light among the darkness, and our message is Hope, through Christ within us.

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
1 Corinthians 1:18 NKJ

If you asked me just 3 months ago if I was going to make any drastic changes to how we minister at LHC, my answer would have been no. But with everything going on around us, we have been pretty much forced into some major changes in how we minister to our people. You have been seeing some of these changes that we have incorporated over the last few weeks.

It has been a real stretch, and a big learning curve for all of us, but we must continue on. Life as we knew it has now changed. I know that other ministries are continuing to try new things in these difficult times, just like we are. I want to thank you for your support during this time of transition.

The major focus for each one of us is to keep our eyes upon the Lord, no matter how you are currently spending your days. We are the chosen people for this generation, and the fields are ripe with ministry opportunities. We are the ones who carry the message of Christ during this dark time, and that light that we carry through the message of the Cross must not be extinguished. In fact, each one of us must “up our game” and find new and innovative ways to continue to spread the message of the Gospel so that this time will not be wasted. This is certainly not a time to sit upon the couch and watch the next series of your favorite sitcom, while people around us are perishing. This is a time to stand up and let your voice be heard about the love of Jesus.

If you are looking for ministry opportunities, look no farther than your own circle of friends. Contact them and let them know that they are not alone and that you would love to pray for them. You may be their only connection to the saving power of God.

If you have any personal needs or prayer requests, please contact the church office.

Love you all,

Pastor Don
